Gwyneth the racing car, who won a prestigious Student Formula competition at Silverstone recently with her team of Cardiff University Engineering students, was welcomed to Ruthin by the Town Mayor, Councillor Jim Bryan, on Monday, 25 September.
Representatives of the team, who are massive fans of Tom Pryce, wanted to take photos of the car by the Tom Pryce memorial as a fitting tribute forty years since he died in a racing accident. The car also featured Tom Pryce's racing car colours.
The Formula Student competition is organised each year by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and invites students from around the world to take part in the four-day event at Silverstone.
The 56 strong team from Cardiff University were awarded first prize, beating competition from over 130 other university teams.
